Vortex Training Simulators is a division of CMLabs Simulations, Inc., providing reconfigurable, real-time, immersive, physics-based simulators for operator training. CMLabs develops and markets simulation software, simulation services and turn-key simulators for training the operators of heavy vehicles and equipment.

CMLabs has developed a line of Crane simulators from requirements defined by the Operating Engineers Training Institute of Ontario (OETIO). OETIO is the leading operator-training center in Canada, and has developed a worldwide reputation for training excellence and innovation. Following extensive use of the prototype simulators in its training courses, OETIO utilized instructor and student feedback to derive the requirements for a solution. In December 2004, OETIO and CMLabs concluded a partnership agreement to design, deliver and commercialize a family of training products.
